This program promotes literacy through reading, writing and creative arts for children aged 3 to 4. For 20 years, the center has been a crucial resource for thousands of residents in Fort Greene and the surrounding area, offering affordable and educationally rich childhood education to children. These activities are offered through our free Early Learning Pre-K Program. The services are provided free of charge for families in the Brooklyn community. The Center is fully licensed and accredited and is a great resource for working families.

Elementary School: Gary Klinsky Children’s Centers Founded in 1993, The Gary Klinsky Children’s Centers (GKCC) are after school and summer programs for children in grades K-5 at five NYC Department of Education (DOE) Compass Programs across Brooklyn. We partner with COMPASS to provide 3 ½ additional hours of class time a day to students, using a thematic curriculum to support academic enrichment that includes STEAM and literacy programming.
Middle School Our Middle School After School Programs promote creativity and leadership skills, literacy and critical thinking, fitness and community services, and more. The curriculum provides student homework assistance, arts and crafts, step and cheer opportunities, organized sports, and STEAM programming.
The Beacon Program is a dynamic, school-based community center in North Brooklyn, servicing youth aged 11 and up*. This program helps young people acquire the skills they need to graduate from high school, succeed in their chosen career, and give back to the community.
*As a community center, Beacon also offers services for adults.

The Brooklyn High School for Leadership and Community Service (BHSLCS) is a transfer high school for over-age, under-credited youth, ages 16 to 21. BHSLCS serves 220 students who have either fallen behind their classmates in conventional high school settings or have previously dropped out. The high school provides a challenging, student-centered, and personalized educational experience that empowers students to obtain their high school diploma and become fully participating community members, leaders and lifelong learners.
