Monae Priolenau-Jones

Acting Co-President & Executive Director
Chief of Staff

Monae Priolenau-Jones is BCS’ Chief of Staff. In her role, she provides strategic support to the Executive Director and works with the Executive staff and Board of Directors to coordinate and execute organization-wide goals and objectives. Monae leads the development of BCS’ strategic plan, and implements special initiatives and projects. She comes to BCS from the New York City Administration for Children’s Services, where she provided technical assistance and improvement strategies for nonprofit agencies. She earned a Master of Public Administration degree from John Jay College and an undergraduate degree in government and politics from St. John’s University. Monae is a fifth-generation Brooklynite and is happy to support the work of an organization that has a long history of caring for Brooklyn. In her spare time, she loves to read and travel.

Jodi Querbach

Acting Co-President & Executive Director
Chief Operating Officer

Jodi Querbach is BCS’ Chief Operating Officer. She is responsible for overseeing BCS’ forty nine programs across Brooklyn, as well as additional administrative departments. Jodi joined BCS in 2004 as the Director of Family Services. In this role, she oversaw the Bedford-Stuyvesant and East New York Family Centers. After years of hard work and commitment to the families we serve, Jodi was promoted to the Deputy Operating Officer before she stepped into her current role in 2018. She has over twenty years experience working with children and families in Brooklyn, and is a graduate of Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School for Social Work. She is currently on the Board of Directors of a child welfare advocacy organization. Originally from a farm in Kansas, Jodi loves her home in Brooklyn where she lives with her three teen boys and their dog, Pilot.

Angela Chiappara

Chief Program Officer

Angela Chiappara is BCS’ Chief Program Officer. She oversees our forty nine programs across Brooklyn, in addition to our government grant writing department. Angela joined BCS in 2013 as a program director for our transfer high school, Brooklyn High School for Leadership and Community Service, and has since served as the Division Director of Youth Services and the Deputy Chief Operating Officer. Throughout her career, she has worked both on the west and east coast and overseas as a social worker, mainly in the areas of youth development, chemical dependency, homelessness and disaster recovery. Angela completed her Master of Social Work at New York University and her social work undergraduate studies at University of California, Berkeley. Originally from California, Angela has called Brooklyn her home since 2004.

Raine Martin

Chief Advancement Officer

Raine Martin is BCS’ Chief External Relations & Advancement Officer. She oversees fundraising, communications, community and corporate engagement, and marketing for BCS and BCS programs. Raine joined BCS in 2023, with nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit development and communications. Throughout her career, Raine has worked with many organizations across New York City, including the Urban Assembly, the Apollo Theater, Hudson Guild, and the Prospect Park Alliance. She earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and completed her undergraduate studies in communications at Temple University. Raine is a native Brooklynite and enjoys the borough’s diverse and vibrant cultural scene. She serves on the board of Brooklyn Arts Exchange.

Luke Feldman

Chief Human Resources Officer

Luke Feldman is BCS’ Chief Human Resources Officer. He helps support all human resources functions that allow our hard working staff to have the tools, resources and support to do great work every day. Luke has more than twenty five years of non-profit and academic human capital experience. He has experience in talent development, organizational design, recruitment and retention, and nearly every aspect of human resources. Luke knows he is fortunate to be able to support hard working (and almost always underpaid and underrecognized) human services non-profit professionals at BCS. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University at Albany SUNY and a Masters of Information and Library Science from Pratt Institute as well as SHRM-CP and SPHR certification. Luke enjoys trivia, sports, cooking and exploring the upper limits of the Scoville Heat Unit scale for hot peppers.

Douglas Schneider

General Counsel

Douglas Schneider is the General Counsel for BCS. As the chief legal officer he leads BCS’s legal affairs, and provides legal advice and counsel to the Executive Director, the Senior Leadership Team, the Board of Trustees, and other members of the BCS community, on a broad and diverse range of legal matters. He serves as the Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for developing and implementing BCS’s compliance program and meeting regulatory requirements. Prior to joining BCS, Doug worked as a civil rights and criminal defense attorney for 18 years. He is the co-editor of one of the leading legal treatises on New York Criminal Law and his work and writings have been featured in major news publications like the New York Times, Forbes, and Business Week. Doug earned his undergraduate degree in history from Union College and his J.D. from Cardozo Law School, where he was an editor of the Cardozo Law Review.

Jessica Tenzer

Division Director of Families, Community Building, and Workforce Development

Jessica Tenzer is BCS’ Division Director of Families, Community Building, and Workforce Development. She is responsible for overseeing eleven programs that support Brooklynites through community centers, family and job support services, and education centers. Jessica joined BCS in 2018 as the Director of our Preventive Services programs, before starting her current role in 2020. Her professional life includes a commitment to advocacy and social justice. Jessica has spent years working to prevent abuse and neglect of children and to keep families together safely without the need for placement into foster care. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from NYU. Jessica is a proud mother who loves to dance, paint and watch telenovelas in her spare time.

Rose Sauls

Division Director of Services for People Living with Disabilities

Rose Sauls is BCS’ Division Director of Services for People Living with Disabilities. She is responsible for overseeing nine programs that serve nearly 1,000 Brooklynites living with disabilities/mental illness. Prior to working at BCS, Rose worked in the mental health and social services field for seven years. She joined BCS in 2007 as the Medicaid Service Coordinator, and three years later, was promoted to her current role. Rose did her undergraduate work in sociology and psychology at New Paltz and earned her Master of Social Work from Fordham University in 2001. She is a licensed social worker and SIFI trained. In her free time she chairs a sub-committee through the Brooklyn Developmental Disability Council for providers and families of people with disabilities. Rose’s idea of fun is experimenting with cooking a new dish for her friends and family.

Sharon Holiner

Division Director of Education and Youth Development

Sharon Holiner is BCS’ Division Director of Education and Youth Development, overseeing eleven educational programs. These programs serve over 1,000 children and youth from ages two to twenty five. Prior to joining BCS in 2020, she was a teacher and educator in a variety of schools and organizations around New York. Sharon is committed to advancing educational equity and providing underserved children and youth with meaningful, empowering learning experiences. She earned both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Early Childhood and Childhood Education from Sarah Lawrence College. She holds a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University School of Professional Studies. She also earned her New York State Teaching Certification in Early Childhood and Childhood Education. Sharon is an avid reader and a maker of things, from pen-and-ink portraits to crocheted critters.

Tracy Coit

Division Director of Health, Housing and Homelessness Solutions

Tracy Coit is BCS’ Division Director of Health, Housing and Homelessness Solutions. She is responsible for overseeing nine programs that provide services to unhoused and formerly unhoused Brooklynites through transitional and permanent supportive housing. Her division also encompasses the Street Outreach teams that promote health and wellness throughout the borough. Tracy came to BCS in 2021 with over two decades of experience in mental health residential programs and early intervention programs, a Master of Social Work from Hunter College, and a SIFI certification. She is the co-founder of Harmony in Motion, an advocacy group that spreads awareness around sickle cell and the disparity of medical treatment for people living with the disease. Tracy is also a member of the Sickle Cell Patient and Family Advisory Council at NY Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Born and raised in Brooklyn, she enjoys going to comedy clubs, karaoke, and traveling with her two granddaughters.

Adil Elkari

Information Technology Director

Adil Elkari is BCS’ Information Technology Director. He has a proven track record of consistently meeting BCS’ needs and delivering innovative technological solutions. Over the last twenty years, Adil has built and maintained a high performing IT department through critical organizational initiatives and projects. He has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from City College of New York. Adil has also been certified as a system engineer by Microsoft, Cisco and Novell. When he’s not running BCS’ IT Department, Adil likes to cook for his friends and family and cheer on the Moroccan soccer team!

BCS works in neighborhoods impacted by systemic poverty. We strengthen communities by fostering the educational success of children, the leadership development of youth, the employment and housing stability of adults, the advancement of individuals living with disabilities, and the empowerment of seniors and families.
