With over 50 award-winning programs and 28 locations across Brooklyn, BCS serves over 20,000 individuals in need annually. We empower Brooklyn residents to maximize their potential, serving low income Brooklynites of all ages: from early childhood to adults in their senior years. We strengthen communities by fostering the educational success of children, the leadership development of youth, the employment and housing stability of adults, the advancement of individuals living with disabilities, and the empowerment of seniors and families.
Meet Gary, a participant in our workforce development initiative, NeON Works. Since joining the program in June, he’s taken part in different work-skills courses and has honed his resume with NeON’s team. “I feel like I know so much more now when I go into an interview,” Gary says. “The program taught us what kind of questions we might be asked in interviews and how we can best answer them.”
Gary is now applying for full-time positions and feels confident that NeON Works has given him the tools he needs to land his dream job. We can’t wait to see where he ends up!

The film documents students` success stories in everything from GED certification to English language learning, while exploring the resources and community that the Ed Center offers. Congratulations, filmmakers! We’re so excited to see what you make next! 📹
