Welcome to Brooklyn Community Services
With over 50 award-winning programs and 28 locations across Brooklyn, BCS serves over 20,000 individuals in need annually. We empower Brooklyn residents to maximize their potential, serving low income Brooklynites of all ages: from early childhood to adults in their senior years. We strengthen communities by fostering the educational success of children, the leadership development of youth, the employment and housing stability of adults, the advancement of individuals living with disabilities, and the empowerment of seniors and families.
Meet Timothy Dabriel, a BCS PROS and Greater Heights Clubhouse member! Timothy has been attending PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) for almost 7 years and recently started participating in work preparation courses at the Clubhouse.
He hopes to find a job in the maintenance field and eventually open up his own store. He also just moved into new supportive housing in Manhattan, where he’s already made some friends and participated in community events!
“It’s been excellent,” Timothy says of his time in PROS. “I love the group, the people…I mean, really, everything.”

Our new initiative, BCS NY Food for NY Families, is off to a great start! We’ve partnered with local growers to provide fresh produce to Brooklynites across our programs, from our Sunset Park Education Center to our Family Enrichment Center in Coney Island. 🥕 🍅 🍎
Also, our new youth culinary clubs will hold cooking demonstrations for community members and share delicious, culture-specific recipes for the neighborhoods we serve. We’re so excited to keep expanding this initiative and provide nutritious, fresh food to families all over Brooklyn!
