Sticking to the J Train, but Learning to Reroute Dark Thoughts

BCS client Ramel has been featured in the New York Times in a story of a young man with intellectual disabilities finding independence and tools to combat negativity. During his time at BCS’s Community for All Day Habilitation program Ramel is reminded that even during periods of dark thoughts and struggle, he now has a constant support system. “I give him reminders that he’s smart, that he’s needed in his life and that he has a whole bunch of friends,” said his site supervisor Ms. Garcia.

BCS is a proud partner of the New York Times Neediest Cases Campaign, which provides direct assistance to struggling New Yorkers, including BCS clients.
