For Teenager, ‘What I See in the Mirror is not What I Am’

BCS client Manasia has been featured in The New York Times in a story of a young woman struggling with gender identity, homelessness, and feeling empowered.

During her time at BCS’s Brooklyn High School for Leadership and Community Services however, she is starting to see a future of education, social service, and find inspiration in peers that elevate her.

BCS is a proud partner of the New York Times Neediest Cases Campaign, which provides direct assistance to struggling New Yorkers, including BCS clients. To read Manasia’s full story click on the link below. There you’ll also find ways to Donate to the Neediest Cases Campaign.
