Gary Klinsky Children’s Centers (GKCC)
Gary Klinsky Children’s Centers [Bedford Stuyvesant, East New York, and Brownsville]. GKCC supports young students (K to 5) through afterschool and summer programs that prepare them for middle school. These afterschool programs provide 3 ½ hours a day of additional class time using a thematic curriculum that supports academic enrichment with STEAM and literacy programming. The summer programs provide 5 to 10 hours of similar academically enriching activities.
Youth Stand Academy
Youth Stand Academy [Brownsville, East New York and Coney Island] is an academic enrichment program that provides scholastic and life skills support for middle school youth (grades 6 to 8.) In partnership with the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), the Youth Stand Academy provides a curriculum designed to promote educational enrichment teaching literacy, critical thinking, creativity in the arts, and leadership skills through service learning and community engagement.
