Living on His Own for the First Time to a Soundtrack of Heavy Metal
At 26 years of age Jonathan Lewis is living on his own for the very first time in the Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhood. Jonathan has a mild intellectual disability and receives assistance from BCS and through the Neediest Cases Fund he was able to secure supportive housing and maintain his job in Times Square. When talking about his new apartment Jonathan said, “This is where I’m going to retire. I could see myself growing old here.”
BCS is a proud partner of The New York Times Neediest Cases Campaign, which provides direct assistance to struggling New Yorkers, including BCS clients.
