Grief Throws a Young Point Guard Off Her Game

“She’s one of the most talented players in the city”, says the basketball coach of Makaylah Barber, a BCS client recently featured in The New York Times. After the loss of her mother and difficulty in school Makaylah, a.k.a. Chicken, started attending the BCS Brooklyn High School for Leadership and Community Service where she is reinvesting in her talent for the game, and works to improve her academic achievement.
