BCS 150th Anniversary Kick Off Gala

In our 150th year of service BCS remains more committed than ever to our vision of ONE Brooklyn Community, where all Brooklynites can access an excellent education, job opportunities, safe and affordable housing, and quality and affordable health care and wellness programs. It’s with this spirit that we set our fundraising goal the highest it’s been for our annual gala. We surpassed that goal with great enthusiasm!

The BCS 150th Anniversary Kick-Off Gala, held June 6 at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, raised over $1.1 million, a new record for BCS.

The elegant 150th Anniversary Kick-Off Gala honored Brooklyn’s visionary trailblazers: philanthropists and long-time BCS supporters Charles J. and Irene Hamm, builder and corporate leader Forest City Ratner Companies, NYC First Lady and mental health care activist Chirlane McCray, BCS program honoree Lanetta Darlington and BCS outstanding service honoree Ellen Fine Levine. The emcee for the gala was Carla Hall, co-host of ABC’s The Chew and the owner of Carla Hall’s Southern Kitchen Restaurant in Brooklyn.

Thank you to all of our Gala sponsors and donors who made this legendary evening possible.
